After a two-year-period a new ELIG Executive Committee has to be elected. The nominations of the Committee members and our ELIG chair will be confirmed in Q2 2013.

The we.learn.it Portal. "The place to start your expedition." Please see the alpha version to get a first impression. First launch of Learning Expeditions with Finnish and Swedish School Networks, like the "Traces of Innovations" with the Nobel Museum in Stockholm.

Open Education: ELIG Book Series
This first publication in the series to be called Openness and Education will be edited by ELIG in collaboration with the United Nations University UNU- MERIT. The book will feature case studies of initiatives, practices and projects to illustrate theoretical concepts and emerging models of open education in the context of the latest academic studies and entrepreneurial innovation. The book is scheduled for release in fall 2013.
  
Future Talent Development
Results from the HoTEL Pre-conference Workshop at OnlineEduca Societal challenges, policy priorities and TEL: proposing a TEL research "relevance test" are available.
ELIG will create a Learning Exploratorium Lab to explore new forms of workplace learning. The 1st Learning Lab Session "Learning to manage complexity" will be as a preconference Workshop at the Drucker Forum.

This European Conference officially launched the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs by adopting a shared roadmap. Richard Straub was a Chair of the panel with Commissionier Neelie Kroes.

Pioneering Europe 2020 Smart Regions, 26th of April Espoo, Finland
International conference with high-level speakers organised by the Education Committee of the European Committee of the Regions. Elmar Husmann will represent ELIG on the opening panel following opening addresses by EU Commissioner Neelie Kroes and Finland's Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen. we.learn.it will be presented within the Education Show Cases.

HoTel@Drucker Forum, 13th of November, Vienna „Learning to manage complexity“ The Drucker Forum will again feature world class speakers such as Tim Brown, CEO from IDEO. ELIG will organize a pre-conference workshop together with the project HOTEL and members will have a privileged access to the conference with a reduced registration fee. More to follow in the coming newsletters.
